ACC ANNUAL COMMUNITY EVENT

ASANSAN – BACK TO THE ROOTS

A call for people to connect to their roots.

On May 17th, attendees will have an opportunity to connect with the roots at African Cultural Connection’s all day cultural and educational event.

In the morning, participants will get an opportunity to learn through dance and drumming workshops from the visiting international artists.

In the evening, attendees will be transported straight to the Motherland with the sights, sounds, and smells of a lively African Market.

The evening will culminate in a vibrant, colorful, performance featuring ACC’s 16 local performing artists and three international artists.

This spectacular event will be held in collaboration with Benson High School.

In the morning of May 17th, join us for interactive African dance and drumming workshops, led by internationally renowned artists Etienne Cakpo (Benin), Rujeko Dumbutshena (Zimbabwe), and Ayaovi Kokousse (Togo). These hands-on experiences are open to all levels and offer a rare opportunity to learn directly from cultural masters.

Following the workshops, the attendees are invited to a artists panel discussion where the artists will share stories from their homelands and personal journeys in the arts.
